Landscapes on the go

Anytime you need to stop and catch your breath, whether on a hike, bike ride or other strenuous activity, a picture-taking break is the perfect excuse.
These photos were taken during some recent forays on cross country skis.
Most of the time, people have a camera with them at all times - their phone.
A point and shoot in the pocket of your jacket can provide a little more creative and exposure control.
Your point and shoot also likely includes the capability to zoom.
The camera used here is my Lumix DMC-LX5.
My iPhone is great, but not always good enough for what I want to do.

We really didn’t wimp out. The snow on New Year’s Day was starting to melt and was sticking to our skis. We went out on skis and back the last 100 yards on foot.
