Most memorable outing in Illinois? Getting my first buck on the second day of first season in 2006. I got him in the morning right after I got out of my stand. He was shot at about 100 yards away, and he ran 30 yards into the timber before going down. This was my very first buck, and I couldn't have been more excited to get a buck this big for my first buck. I'm taking him to Bloomington in February 2008 for the Illinois Deer and Turkey Classic, since I didn't have him back from the taxidermist until the summer. I can't wait just to see him there among all the other bucks!
